Viewing Volunteer and Workplace Management through Generational Lenses

Presented by Marilyn K. Lesmeister, Associate Professor and Carolyn Ashton, Associate Professor, Oregon State University Extension 4-H Youth Development.

This webinar is designed for those who work with volunteers who are beginning to explore the diverse characteristics among groups of volunteers. Participants will discuss the definition of “generational cohort” and gain a better understanding of preferences of the volunteers in each generation. We will examine the professional challenges we need to address as volunteer program managers (or anyone has a workplace that is multi-generational), and apply effective strategies for marketing, training, and recognizing volunteers in each generation.
