Translating an Evidenced-based Approach in Diabetes Education for African Americans: The Wisdom, Power, Control Program

At the completion of the webinar, the learner will be able to:

1. Discuss qualitative approaches to assess community needs to plan a health promotion program.
2. Explain the importance of identifying community stakeholders and engaging the priority population in building grassroots support.
3. Describe using culturally competent strategies to translate a diabetes education program for African American audiences.
4. Discuss implications of the Wisdom, Power, Control demonstration project.
