Ira Wallace, internationally recognized “seed-saving pioneer” with the Southern Exposure Seed Exchange, will be the featured speaker at "The Seed Workshop" on August 11, 2013, 11 am – 5 pm at the Florida A&M University Center for Viticulture and Small Fruit Research, located at 6505 Mahan Drive, Tallahassee, FL 32317.
Registration: $25.00 per session/per person. Individuals interested in attending are requested to do the following:
a) Send an email to email@example.com indicating your attendance on or before Saturday, August 10, 2013 (deadline).
b) Registration fee will be received on site on the day of the workshop. Please bring check or money order (The Seed Workshop/ FAMU Cooperative Extension)
c) Please bring ripe or mature vegetables to be used to save the seeds.
The 2013 Seed Workshop is scheduled for three different independent sessions on August 11, 12, and 13 from 11:00 am - 5:00 pm at the following sites:
• August 11-- FAMU Center for Viticulture and Small Fruit Research, 6505 Mahan Dr, Tallahassee, FL.
• August 12 -- On-farm learning at Artzi Garden, 114 Artzi Drive, Thomasville, GA;
• August 13 -- Crescent Moon Organic Farm, Sopchoppy, FL
The Seed Workshop is being sponsored through the collaborative efforts of several local small farmers and organizations including: the Florida A&M University (FAMU) Statewide Small Farm Program, the Southern Exposure Seed Exchange, the Ekanlaunee Seed Exchange, and the Leon County Extension Office.
