Renewable Energy from Woody Biomass and Shrub Willow

Presenters: Mike Buckley and Sara Boggess – ReEnergy Holdings; Tim Volk – SUNY ESF; Robert McDonough – Celtic Energy Farm

Sustainable sources of woody biomass are being used by ReEnergy Holdings to generate renewable power and heat in northern NY. A portion of the wood supply is being produced from shrub willow biomass crops as part of a USDA Biomass Crop Assistance (BCAP) project area. The participants will provide insights on how these systems are working and being developed in northern NY.

The NEWBio Webinar Series is hosted by Mike Jacobson, Penn State University and eXtension Farm Energy and held (usually) on the second Tuesday of each month at 1PM Eastern time, 12 CT, 11 MT, 10 PT. These online, hour-long presentations are free to the public, and feature important topics related to bioenergy in the northeast.
