Vesicular stomatitis is a virus that affects horses and cattle. Swine, sheep, goats and camelids will occasionally become infected. The virus is spread by black flies, sand flies, and biting midges.Dr. Keith Roehr will review the Colorado 2014 vesicular stomatitis outbreak, the disease response in horses and other livestock, the response and outcome of VS infection in a Colorado dairy and thoughts on how we may respond differently in the future.
