Meat quality issues with small and backyard poultry flocks

With many of the fast-growing strains of meat chickens, meat quality has become an issue. This includes green muscle, woody muscle, and white striping. These conditions appear to be related to wing flapping, a situation that can occur when flocks are scared while free-ranged.
