Forage Adaptation, Management, and Mixtures for the Eastern U.S.

Participants will learn basic principles to aid with forage and livestock management decision-making.

Selecting forage species based on livestock preferences or management intensity is not something producers regularly consider in their operation. This webinar will look at various forage species, their adaptability on different soils and climates, and their preference by different livestock types. Also discussed will be the ability to mix many of these species to provide diversity. Finally, there will be a review of the role management plays, both positive and negative, in species selection and persistence.
