When does it really make sense to build a new processing facility? Sometimes finding enough of the right kind of meat or poultry processing can seem impossible. Sometimes it makes sense to build a new plant. But more often than not, it probably doesn’t.
Our speakers will explore this question from their years of experience in the field; they will also talk about examples of processing facilities that are planned and built by producers. They are:
• Keith DeHaan, principal at Food and Livestock Planning
• Chris Raines, meat science extension specialist at Penn State University
