Enhancing Extension's Effectiveness: Digital Green's Innovative Approach

Please join us as the Co-Founder and CEO of Digital Green, (www.digitalgreen.org) Rikin Gandhi, presents a webinar on his organization's work using innovative digital technologies to strengthen extension's effectiveness in Asia and Africa...and the potential for adapting relevant approaches here in the U.S. This event is sponsored by the Center for International Programs at USDA's National Institute of Food and Agriculture and eXtension.

Digital Green and eXtension are partnering to create a Digital Green eXtension Fellow to create opportunities and partnerships for Extension professionals to work with Digital Green as part of the eXtension 2017 Food System Issue Corps.

Digital Green is a global development organization that empowers smallholder farmers to pull themselves out of poverty by harnessing the collective power of technology (e.g., locally-produced videos, interactive voice response and mobile phone applications) and grassroots-level partnerships. When farmers have the tools they need to connect with one another, they’re far more likely to apply/integrate what they’ve learned onto their farms and into their households – creating positive change in their own lives and those of their families and communities.

This webinar will be the first in a series to help explore the possibility of adapting some of their work for use with the Cooperative Extension System here in the U.S.
