The National 4-H Poultry and Egg Conference is where competition and fellowship develop the next generation of leaders. Life skills learned in the events include becoming an informed consumer; food safety; leadership; communication skills; problem solving and decision making. The conference is held annually in Louisville, Kentucky the Wednesday and Thursday the week before Thanksgiving. There are five competitive events at the conference. The poultry judging and avian bowl contests are team events while chicken barbecue, turkey barbecue and egg preparation demonstration. The participants also get the opportunity to visit the Slugger Factory and Churchill Downs. The webinar will give an overview of these events and discuss how your state can participate in future conferences.
